Women’s Rights and the Support You Deserve
Every woman has the right to live in safety, dignity, and freedom. These are not privileges – they are fundamental human rights.
Women are entitled to:
-
Safety and protection from abuse, violence, and exploitation.
-
Justice and fairness within the legal system.
-
Health and wellbeing support, including trauma-informed care.
-
Safe housing and security, including emergency refuge.
-
Financial independence and opportunity without discrimination.
-
Equality and respect, with their voices heard and their choices honoured.
Women have the right to access specialist services that uphold these rights, such as:
-
Refuge accommodation and safe housing.
-
Advocacy and legal support.
-
Support for children as victims in their own right.
-
Health, wellbeing, and recovery services.
-
Help with education, training, and pathways to independence.
-
Inclusive, culturally sensitive, and accessible support.
At Nottingham Central Women’s Aid, we are here to ensure that women and children can access the protection, respect, and opportunities they are entitled to – and to stand alongside survivors on their journey to safety, security, and peace.
