Women’s Rights and the Support You Deserve

Every woman has the right to live in safety, dignity, and freedom. These are not privileges – they are fundamental human rights.

Women are entitled to:

  • Safety and protection from abuse, violence, and exploitation.

  • Justice and fairness within the legal system.

  • Health and wellbeing support, including trauma-informed care.

  • Safe housing and security, including emergency refuge.

  • Financial independence and opportunity without discrimination.

  • Equality and respect, with their voices heard and their choices honoured.

Women have the right to access specialist services that uphold these rights, such as:

  • Refuge accommodation and safe housing.

  • Advocacy and legal support.

  • Support for children as victims in their own right.

  • Health, wellbeing, and recovery services.

  • Help with education, training, and pathways to independence.

  • Inclusive, culturally sensitive, and accessible support.

At Nottingham Central Women’s Aid, we are here to ensure that women and children can access the protection, respect, and opportunities they are entitled to – and to stand alongside survivors on their journey to safety, security, and peace.
