Charm Daley – Ambassador for Central Women’s Aid

Charm (Charmaine) Daley — known to Nottingham as Zumba With Charm of Charmed fitness — is a joyful, award-winning Zumba instructor, dance teacher, presenter and community leader whose classes and events light up the city. She’s built a local reputation for bringing people together through music, movement and inclusive fitness — helping women of all ages, backgrounds and abilities to feel confident, have fun and move their bodies.

Championing Women’s Health & Community Wellbeing

Charm is also a visible advocate for women’s sport, mental health and community wellbeing. She works closely with This Girl Can Nottingham and Active Notts in roles that include workforce development and ambassadorial duties, supporting projects that increase representation and create opportunities for women to lead in physical activity. Her work with these programmes focuses on accessibility, confidence-building and reaching women who’ve previously felt excluded.

A Personal Connection to Central Women’s Aid

On a personal level, Charm deeply understands the need for NCWA and its services. As a child and young person, her and her mother would have benefitted from this kind of support whilst being placed in various unsuitable temporary accommodations with little or no support as the victims of DV. In honor of her late mother, this is one of the many reasons Charm strongly advocates for our charity

Inspiring Through Lived Experience

Her own story — from struggling with postnatal depression to reclaiming her confidence through Zumba and later becoming an instructor — is often shared to inspire others. Charm frequently talks about how movement and community helped her “get me back,” and she uses that lived experience to create welcoming, non-judgemental spaces where people can thrive.

Community Leadership & Visibility

Charm regularly hosts and presents local awards and celebration events including This Girl Can ceremonies, mentors others in the fitness sector, and appears regularly at city wellbeing events — roles that have helped cement her status as a well-known local figure in Nottingham’s health and community scene.

Charm uses her platform to champion mental health awareness and women’s safety, drawing on her own lived experiences to encourage openness and resilience. She has been a long-standing advocate and fundraiser for Central Women’s Aid, helping to raise awareness of domestic abuse and the importance of community support for survivors.

Whether she’s leading a high-energy dance session, hosting a local wellbeing event, or speaking out for women’s rights, Charm brings boundless positivity, compassion, and authenticity to everything she does. Her message is simple yet powerful — movement can heal, connection can empower, and every woman deserves to feel safe, strong, and seen.
