Steps to freedom
Description
From surviving to thriving.
Steps to Freedom has been co-produced and created for Central Women’s Aid with the help and guidance of a wonderful and diverse group of women and non-binary people that represent and reflect the communities we work with including people of different ethnicities, a range of cultural and religious backgrounds, different abilities, sexualities and neuro-diverse minds and women who are multilingual and have English as a second, third or fourth language.
Steps to Freedom is a trauma informed, creative and survivor-led recovery programme designed to support healing from the effects of domestic abuse. It blends reflective activities, art-based expression, and shared learning to gently explore the journey from survival to empowerment. Each session offers space for creativity, connection, and growth — helping women rediscover their voice, rebuild confidence, and take steps toward a life of safety, security, and peace.
Course attendees will receive a complimentary journal, but you’re welcome to buy another if you’d like.
If you want to become a facilitator for this programme, please see the Steps to freedom Facilitator page.
